Wike Attributes Work Ethic to Divine Blessings and Duty
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has begun the year with an impressive show of dedication, continuing his inspections of projects during the festive season. In a media briefing on Sunday, he attributed his seemingly boundless energy to divine providence, emphasising that good health is a blessing from God and a prerequisite for fulfilling one’s duties.
Reflecting on his decision to work through Christmas and New Year, the minister stated that public holidays, as declared by the government, are specific dates, and beyond those, officials are expected to fulfil their responsibilities.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to meeting its mandates, particularly in delivering on rural development projects. Despite initial criticism that only urban areas were benefiting from infrastructural improvements, he assured citizens that satellite towns were also receiving attention, as promised under the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
He noted that by December, several road projects across the six area councils had been completed and handed over, marking a significant milestone in bridging developmental gaps between urban centres and satellite communities.
The minister reiterated that these accomplishments demonstrate the administration’s resolve to ensure that all areas under its jurisdiction feel the presence and impact of governance. The minister added that more projects are scheduled for commissioning in the coming weeks, affirming the administration’s commitment to equitable development.
