As part of efforts to enhance education in Lagos State, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, through the Lagos State Examinations Board, has announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 Universal Basic Education by Continuous Assessment Scores (UBE BY CAS) and Placement Test.
Mr Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, stated in a circular that registration will run from Monday, January 27 to Friday, April 18, 2025.
The Board has also approved Yoruba as one of the subjects for assessing pupils’ knowledge and thinking ability in the Placement Test by CAS.
In a statement released by Onadipe Opebere, the Public Affairs Officer of the Board, Orunsolu informed parents, guardians, headteachers, proprietors, and proprietresses that the circular serves as notice for primary six pupils transitioning to junior secondary school (JSS).
He clarified that only primary six pupils from public and approved private schools in Lagos State are eligible to sit for the UBE by CAS and Placement Test.
Registration is free for pupils in public primary schools, while those in approved private primary schools must pay ₦5,000 per candidate via the Lagos State Central Billing System (CBS).
The Board urged school authorities to take note of the registration dates and ensure parents and guardians are well informed.
Additionally, the Director reassured stakeholders that all children would be accommodated, with measures in place to guarantee a smooth and hassle-free registration process.
