The chairman of Zango-Kataf local government area of Kaduna State, Engr. Joseph Bege Gaiya has doled out 400 bags of 25kg and 50kg bags of high-quality rice and cash gifts to traditional rulers, APC, PDP, Labour Party members, widows, and other vulnerable members of the society.
Presenting the items in Zonkwa, the headquarters of Zango-Kataf local government area recently, Gaiya said the gesture was borne out of love and compassion which the season of Christmas represents.
He explained that Christmas is not just a time to be merry but a season to show love to the poor who could not afford food for the Christmas celebration.
” It is my conviction that the items distributed would go a long way in giving the beneficiaries a sense of belonging throughout the Yuletide celebration,” he stated.
According to him, reaching out to his people at a time like this, when things are pretty tough, is his way of identifying with them and letting them know they’re not alone.
The local government boss pledged to continue to prioritize the welfare of his staff and citizens not just during Christmas but every time the opportunity presents itself.
He, however, appealed to the people of Zango-Kataf to support the administration of Governor Uba Sani to enhance democratic dividends.
The elated beneficiaries, especially the vulnerable members of the community, couldn’t contain their joy as they prayed for more of God’s blessings on the council chairman.
