BREAKING: NEUF Defends Governor Bala Mohammed On National Issues

The North East Unity Forum (NEUF) has responded to recent comments by Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media to the President, regarding Governor Bala Mohammed’s stance on the controversial Tax Reform Bill.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Yusuf Umar, NEUF praised Governor Mohammed’s extensive public service record and defended his right to voice concerns on issues affecting Nigerians, particularly in Northern Nigeria.

The group condemned Dare’s comments, which they claim sought to undermine Governor Mohammed’s concerns about the controversial Tax Reform Bill and its potential adverse effects on Northern Nigeria.

“Governor Bala Mohammed is a seasoned public servant with nearly 30 years of experience, including roles as Senator, FCT Minister, and now a second-term Governor. His track record and accomplishments give him the credibility to voice concerns on national issues,” the statement read.

The forum further alleged that Dare, a “colossal failure in previous roles,” lacks the understanding and exposure to comment on such sensitive matters.

It criticized the Tinubu administration for implementing policies that have, according to NEUF, worsened economic hardship, increased poverty, and marginalized ordinary Nigerians.

Highlighting Governor Mohammed’s achievements in Bauchi State, NEUF praised his policies promoting equality, progress, and development.

“The people of Bauchi State are well-pleased with their Governor and will continue to defend his mandate,” the statement added.

NEUF urged the federal government to reconsider its policies, which it claims have led to widespread hunger, loss of livelihoods, and deteriorating living standards.

The group warned that failure to address these issues could have significant political consequences in the 2027 general elections.

“This government has been rated as the worst since the return to democracy, with unachievable and inhumane policies. Nigerians are watching, and the clock is ticking,” the statement concluded.
