A Call For Equitable Learning Opportunities

As the world marks International Education Day, the Team Leader of Funmilayo Health Foundation Africa and Special Envoy to the Republic of Tanzania, Ambassador Adeniran Michael Timothy, has called for urgent action to ensure inclusive and equitable education for all.

Adeniran emphasised the need for renewed efforts to guarantee that every individual, regardless of background, has access to quality education.

Speaking in commemoration of International Education Day, he stressed that education is not a privilege but a fundamental right.

“Access to education should not be determined by socio-economic status, gender, or location. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to building a better world,” he stated.
Highlighting the transformative power of education, Adeniran noted that inclusive learning environments foster critical thinking, innovation, and global citizenship.

He said these qualities are crucial for addressing the pressing challenges facing communities worldwide, including poverty, inequality, and climate change.

Under Ambassador Timothy‘s leadership, Funmilayo Health Foundation Africa has been at the forefront of bridging educational gaps in Africa.

The foundation focuses on skills acquisition and affordable learning, empowering marginalised communities and promoting sustainable development.

International Education Day reminds us of our collective responsibility to dismantle barriers to education and ensure that no one is left behind.

Ambassador Timothy aptly stated, “When we make education accessible to all, we unlock the potential of entire generations and lay the foundation for a more equitable and prosperous future.”

He urged governments, organisations, and individuals to prioritise inclusive education and create opportunities for lifelong learning for everyone, everywhere.
