Adebayo Tasks Nigerians On Leadership Recruitment

One of the presidential candidates in the 2023 election, Prince Adewale Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has called for a change in the tendency of leaders emerging in government to do worse than their predecessors.

Speaking as chairman of the Numan Federation Cultural Carnival in Adamawa State, the SDP kingpin said, “The tragedy of our election is not that Adewale Adebayo is not elected; it is that every four years after we do election the government is worse than the one before. That is what we must break now.”
He asked for a change of approach by all Nigerians towards the issue of who gets elected into positions, with reference to their capacity and genuineness of intention, so that only the best get to public offices.
He asked Nigerians to be true patriots in loyalty to the country and love for the people.

He said, “I will leave you with one word: every Nigerian you see is your brother. We must cultivate the spirit of love for one another.”

Bishop Rhema Bitrus convened the Numan Cultural Carnival 2025, which was held in Numan and attracted cultural groups from the Numan LGA and the other LGAs of the federation, Lamurde, Guyuk, Demsa, and Shelleng.

Earlier in his welcome speech at the carnival, Bishop Rhema said it was a unity carnival at which cultural groups from across the federation’s LGAs and groups from the major ethnic groups, namely Igbo, Hauwa, and Fulani, would perform.

He explained that it was an event meant to reawaken cultural consciousness among Nigerians.

Solomon Dalung, a former minister of youth and sports development, and Dr Umar Ardo, an Adamawa State governorship candidate of the SDP in 2023, were among the dignitaries who accompanied Prince Adewale Adebayo to the cultural carnival.

Solomon Dalung, in a remark during the event, urged Nigerians, especially religious leaders, to accept culture as a decent form of identity.
