BREAKING: 6 People Killed, Eight Injured in Czech Restaurant Fire

Rescue services said on Sunday that a restaurant fire in a city in the Czech Republic‘s northwest had killed six people and injured eight more.

The local fire department wrote on X, “A gas heater was likely knocked over, causing the fire to spread very quickly.”

In the city of Most, which is about 70 kilometres (45 miles) northwest of the capital, Prague, a restaurant inside a housing complex caught fire.

The fire service reports that it started at 22:17 GMT on Saturday and was contained before midnight.

“The fire had tragic consequences for six people despite all efforts,” the statement added.

Six of the eight individuals who were hurt are in critical condition. They were taken to medical facilities in the regional capital, Usti nad Labem, Prague, and Most.

About thirty people were rescued from the restaurant and a nearby apartment complex by firefighters, Interior Minister Vít Rakušan said on X.
