Super Eagles B invitee and smart city reliable defender Afeez Bankole is confident that the Super Eagles B team will get the better of their Ghanaian opponents and pick the ticket for the next CHAN tournament coming up across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda in 2025.
Afeez, who was part of the players invited to the camp of the Eagles in preparation for the CHAN qualifiers, is strongly backing the Eagles to pick the ticket at the expense of Ghana, saying, that even though he is not with the team right now, he is confident the eagles have enough quality to seal the ticket against of their biggest football rivals.
The former Nasarawa United star and assistant captain of Smart City FC believes the Eagles are hungry to be part of the next CHAN tournament after missing a few editions.
“We all know, it’s always a classic when it comes to Nigeria and Ghana. It’s a clash of the titans, but I strongly believe we will get the better of them this time because we have good quality players in our team to do the job in the final battle in Nigeria this weekend,” he said.
“It’s the pride of every player to represent his country at international tournaments, and we have too much quality in our league not to be part of the CHAN tournament because I still have a part to play in the team when we qualify for the tournament”, he added
“We were able to get a draw in the first leg in Ghana, and we know the return leg this weekend will be tough, but, I believe the team will get all three points at stake, by the special grace of God”, he concluded
The Super Eagles B team and their Ghanaian counterpart are battling for a ticket in the next CHAN tournament across Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. The first leg ended goalless in Ghana, and the return leg will take place this weekend in Nigeria.
