BREAKING: Flush Out Bandits From Oyo, Makinde Charges Military

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has charged the Nigerian military to flush out bandits from the state.
Makinde gave the charge on Friday at Oja’ba Central Mosque during the Juma’at Service to commemorate the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, 2025.

It would be recalled that Makinde, in his remarks on Monday at the 2025 Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service held at the Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, stated that there was information that some bandits were currently residing in villages near Fashola.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Barr Adebayo Lawal, described the Armed Forces Remembrance Day as a solemn day in the annals of the military in Nigeria.

He noted that efforts and contributions of the Nigeria Armed Forces could not be overlooked, especially in the area of peace and tranquility and meaningful development.

The governor maintained that the government of Oyo State acknowledged the effort of the Nigeria Armed Forces in keeping the country together.

“The Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration will stop at nothing to reduce the rate of crimes and criminality to the barest in the state.

“I am urging the military to double their efforts towards ensuring that bandits are wiped away from Oyo State.

“Today is a special day in the calendar of the Nigeria Armed Forces; without peace and tranquility, there is nothing we can do. We are here today to share the remembrance of our fallen heroes; our fallen heroes paid the supreme prize which is the highest anyone can offer. We have to celebrate them, if not for their efforts, perhaps Nigeria would have been divided,” he said.
