The Black Stars had a late goal on the part of Ernest Nuamah to thank for a 2-1 downing of the Central African Republic, ensuring their status as Group E table-toppers with 12 points from six fixtures.

Just what, though, does this mean for the clubs boasting Ghanaian stars? More specifically, how long can such outfits expect to be without these members of Chris Hughton’s squad?

Well, the AFCON, all told, runs from January 13th to February 11th, 2024.

Though it of course cannot be predicted exactly how far any one country will progress, this could mean, between pre-tournament preparations and post-tournament rest, players could be away from their clubs for as long as six weeks.

In the Premier League, Arsenal’s Thomas Partey, sidelined at present, will be expected to take his place centre stage for the Black Stars.
