Martins Vincent Otse, the Nigerian social critic, who is popularly known as Very Dark Man, VDM, has made a new claim, stating that hackers breached his NGO website and moved N180m from its account.
In a video he shared on his Instagram page this morning, VDM said the police are already involved in the matter and that one of the hackers has been arrested in Jos, Plateau state.
He mentioned he and one of the police officers were on their way to Jos. He added that his NGO account now has only N20m.
“I would be honest with you guys. For the past few days, I have not been myself. Somebody hacked into the NGO website and I don’t know how they did it. N180 million is missing.
“Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and we are on our way to Jos. They have arrested one. The account has been put on PND (Post No Debit). The account now has N20 million.” he said
Otse further explained that he had to shut down the NGO’s app for maintenance to prevent further breaches and promised to provide updates on the situation.
Recall that on October 14, 2024, he launched the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative and in 24 hours, he received a donation of N33 million from well-meaning Nigerians. Music executive, Don Jazzy also donated a whooping N100 million to VDM’s NGO.
