BREAKING: Oshiomhole Blames Buhari, Not Tinubu, for Nigeria’s Hardships

The senator for Edo North and former governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has spoken out against blaming President Bola Tinubu for Nigeria’s current hardships.

Instead, Oshiomhole placed the blame on former President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing his “reckless” policies of intending to “dehumanize” the people.

According to People’s Gazette, in an interview on Channels TV, he criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress’s handling of the economy, emphasizing loyalty to Nigeria over party allegiance.

He made it clear that he disagreed with Buhari’s policies and was not alone in doing so, noting that some governors strongly opposed the measures. He pointed out that the current challenges were a result of the long-term consequences of those policies and that the blame should not solely fall on the current president.

Despite their party affiliation, he echoed Tinubu’s position, stating, “Yes, it is our party platform. But like Tinubu also said, he was never a minister in that government.”

“He was never an adviser in that government. He never took a contract with that government and cannot be held responsible for what the government did right or wrong.”

Nigerians have been facing increased hardship and skyrocketing food prices due to economic inflation, leading to recent protests in Niger, Kano, and Lagos.

Tinubu responded to the public outcry by directing the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to release 42,000 metric tons of grain, including maize, millet, and garri. He also pledged to make Nigeria a net exporter of food in Africa through aggressive mechanized agriculture.
