BREAKING: Prepare For Better Service Delivery, Sanwo-Olu Tells Lagos Civil Servants

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has charged Lagos workers to put in their best and be diligent in the execution of their official duties.

He gave the charge at a luncheon with outstanding officers (junior and senior categories) held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, organised by the Office of the Head of Service to round off the 2024 Lagos State Public Service Week.

Sanwo-Olu told the workers that the Lagos public service has become the envy of others across the country and charged the workers not to relent but be committed to lifting the state and its civil service to a higher level.

“We are the envy of every state in the country. We are the best civil service in the country. We cannot give up now and be comfortable with where we are now. We cannot continue to live on past glory. We should rededicate ourselves so we can continue to remain ahead. We should be outstanding and be best in what we do,” the governor said.

In his address, the State Head of Service, Olabode Agoro said the award ceremony and luncheon was to recognise officers adjudged to be outstanding across the MDAs in the state.

He thanked the governor for prioritising welfare of the workers by paying the minimum wages, 100 per cent salary increment for December 2024, among other incentives.
Agoro said some of the activities for the public service week were press conferences, free medical screening for public servants, public lectures among others.

The HOS said a total of 271 nominations were submitted to receive awards but 210 were finally chosen.
