BREAKING: ‘Wigwe’ He told us on Thursday this week light will be on, for 5 years we don’t have electricity here – kinsman

John Owochukwu, a relative of the late Herbert Wigwe, has revealed a heartening initiative undertaken by the CEO of Access Bank in their hometown of Isiokpo, situated in Rivers State.

During an interview with AIT, Owochukwu shared that before the tragic helicopter accident that claimed the lives of Wigwe, his wife Chizoba, and their son, Wigwe had committed to addressing the enduring issue of electricity scarcity in Isiokpo. According to Owochukwu, Wigwe reassured the community that electricity would be reinstated within the week, putting an end to a prolonged blackout lasting five years. Furthermore, Owochukwu emphasized that this commitment extended beyond Isiokpo, aiming to benefit the entire Ikwerre Local Government Area, where residents had been grappling with similar challenges.

In Owochukwu’s own words: “He told us on Thursday this week light will be on, for 5 years we don’t have electricity here. And this light is not only for Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local government does not even have light but he promised and started doing the work. This is national grid”.
