COAS Applauds 402 Brigade for Anti-Terrorism Efforts

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, paid a visit to the 402 Special Forces Brigade in Kaduna on Monday, January 20, 2025, where he expressed appreciation for their efforts in securing the Kaduna-Abuja road and rail corridor.

The visit was made to motivate the troops and assess their operational readiness. 

Upon his arrival, General Oluyede was welcomed with a ceremonial Quarter Guard and briefed on the Brigade’s operations and the obstacles they face.

He spoke directly to the soldiers, urging them to remain focused on their mission of tackling security threats in the region. He reassured them that measures would be taken to address their concerns and improve their working conditions. 

The COAS acknowledged the dedication of the officers and soldiers, stating that their work plays an important role in the Army’s overall mission to protect the nation. He encouraged them to continue demonstrating leadership and resilience in their operations.

General Oluyede praised the Brigade for their excellent performance, noting the high demand for their expertise across different Army formations. 

During his address, he promised to prioritise the welfare and accommodation of Army personnel, emphasising that every soldier deserves the best care and support. He also urged officers to lead by example and inspire their teams through their actions. 

The visit, which included senior Army officials such as the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, served as an opportunity for the COAS to show his support for the troops and boost morale.

His message reinforced the importance of their mission and his commitment to ensuring the Nigerian Army remains effective in securing the country.
