DSS Nabs Gunrunner Tracked From Niger to Zamfara

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended a suspected gunrunner who fled from the Niger Republic to Zamfara State.

The suspect was presented to Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal at the Government House in Gusau, the state’s capital, on Tuesday evening.

Governor Lawal commended the DSS and other security agencies for their professionalism in capturing the suspect, stressing the importance of public cooperation in fighting crime.

The suspect had been under surveillance and was tracked from Niger to Zamfara with the help of cross-border intelligence.

The operation also involved troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji.

A significant haul of weapons and ammunition, including 2 PKT machine guns, 9 AK-47 rifles, and over 170 rounds of ammunition, was seized.
