The 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he won’t attend the All African Cup of Nations, AFCON, finals between the Super Eagles and Cote d’Ivoire.
According to Daily Post, Obi claimed that his inability to attend the stadium to watch the final AFCON is a direct result of the passing of Access Bank Holdings’ Herbert Wigwe.
It was announced on Saturday that Wigwe had perished in an American helicopter crash.
Obi claimed that the fact that the dead was a friend of his had affected him, nevertheless.
Obi posted on X, stating: “My dear Super Eagles, “I want to join our throngs of fellow countrymen in expressing my utmost support and dedication to you as you take the field of play for the historic AFCON finals today.
“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that I will not be physically present in the stadium to support you.
