JAMB Suspends Law Programmes in Eight Nigerian Universities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revoked its accreditation for admitting students to the Law programme at eight Nigerian universities.

According to JAMB Public Communications Advisor Fabian Benjamin, this action comes in light of the Council of Legal Education suspending the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program for the 2025/2026 academic year due to breaches of regulatory guidelines.

The impacted universities include Kwara State University in Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State; Bingham University in Karu, Nasarawa State; Redeemers University in Ede, Osun State; and Western Delta University in Oghara, Delta State.

In addition, Taraba State University in Jalingo, Taraba State; Arthur Jarvis University in Akpabuyo, Cross River State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University in Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State; along with the Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, are also affected.

Moreover, the Nigerian Police Academy has been prohibited from admitting students for two academic years: 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.
