Japanese Man Rickshaws 6,000km from Kenya to Cape Town
Yuji “Gump” Suzuki, a 34-year-old Japanese adventurer, has completed an extraordinary 6,000-kilometre journey from Kenya to South Africa, pulling a rickshaw through five African countries.
Suzuki arrived in Cape Town on Sunday, reflecting on the emotional journey that began in Kenya last July.
The trek took him through Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia, all while pulling a 100-kg rickshaw. Throughout his journey, Suzuki expressed gratitude for the support he received from followers, saying, “I couldn’t make it without you guys.”
Known for his previous long-distance adventures, Suzuki has also pulled his cart through China, India, Europe, and the United States. This latest feat marks another chapter in his ongoing travels that began nearly a decade ago.
Suzuki’s rickshaw journey, which he documents on social media, has inspired countless fans, as he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible on foot, all while staying true to his motto of giving back the energy he receives from others.
