The appellate court in Abuja upheld the decision of the tribunal, which nullified Yusuf’s victory and declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the March 18 election.

In a broadcast on Friday night, Yusuf announced that he has instructed his legal team to challenge the ruling of the appeal court at the Supreme Court.

“We have consulted all stakeholders and resolved and decided that our lawyers should challenge the Appeal Court kudgment at the Supreme Court.

“We believe and have the confidence that the Supreme Court will reclaim the mandate of the Kano people who voted for us,” he said.

He encouraged the populace to persist in their lawful activities, assuring them that security forces have received directives to maintain law and order in the state.
