Kano Governor Completes N4 Billion Road Project in Dawakin Kudu

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has put a 7.3-kilometre road and solar-powered streetlight project in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area into service at a cost of more than four billion naira.

The Governor’s spokesperson, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, made this revelation to reporters in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the project was initiated in 2012 by the administration of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, but during his eight-year term, the immediate former governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, left it unfinished.

Governor Yusuf said he was happy to have kept one of his campaign pledges during the commissioning event.

“Today, we see a promise given to the residents of Dawakin Kudu come to pass.

He declared, “I am thrilled to commission this project, which will greatly improve the socio-economic well-being of the community.”

Last year, the road project, which has a total value of over four billion naira, was revalidated with the contractor, H&M Nigeria Limited, to finish and deliver it by the first quarter of 2025.

The Governor was praised by Hon. Sani Ahmad Mairago, Chairman of Dawakin Kudu Local Government, for prioritising and finishing the project, calling it an important step forward for the community.
