There is rumpus in Ekosin community in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State after Governor Ademola Adeleke failed to sack the monarch from the throne after issuing White Paper.
The Nation recalled that Adeleke during his inauguration suspended about 30 traditional rulers hinging the suspension on faulty appointment process by last administration. Meanwhile, Adeleke after reviewing all the processes, he sacked three of the monarchs.
The community’s young members then stormed the Osun Government Secretariat to demonstrate against Elekosin of Ekosin, Oba Kasali Olagunju, the newly chosen monarch. Prince Lateef Sulaimon, the Secretary of the Nyanbilolu Ruling House, along with Prince Bowofola Abraham, the Head of the house, disputed the appointment in a letter addressed to Adeleke.
He claimed that Adeleke had not in any way appointed the new monarch using the chieftaincy declaration of 1956, and he pleaded with her to protect the town from bloodshed and bring stability back.
