Second Day of Gaza Ceasefire Sees New Casualties

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has confirmed that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has now exceeded 47,000, with 111,091 individuals injured, as reported on the second day of the ceasefire, which began on Sunday.

In its latest statement, the ministry revealed that 122 fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours, including 62 bodies recovered from under the rubble. Additionally, 341 people sustained injuries during this period due to continuous Israeli attacks.

Al Jazeera reported the death of a Palestinian in Rafah following the explosion of unexploded ammunition left by Israeli forces.

Eight more Palestinians were reportedly wounded by Israeli gunfire in the same area.

Medical sources also confirmed that the remains of 97 individuals have been retrieved from multiple sites in Rafah since Sunday.

The ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on Sunday morning, has sparked cautious optimism for an end to the devastation caused by Israeli bombardment over the past 470 days.

However, the ongoing reports of casualties underscore the fragile nature of the truce and the immense challenges ahead in ensuring a lasting peace.
