Tension as 11 kidnappers’ informants arrested in Abuja

A resident of Kawu, simply identified as Shuaibu said the arrest was carried out by security operatives during raid at the two communities on Monday afternoon in the area.

He explained that, “The security operatives came around 2pm in two Hilux vans and arrested four in Kawu and two others in Gaba village.”

Similarly, five suspected kidnappers’ informants were arrested in Sabo village in Kuje Area Council.

A security source who was part of the operation but preferred anonymity, said the arrests were carried out between Saturday and Monday.

He explained that, “The arrests were part of a mop-up exercise across villages in Kuje and neighbouring area councils. We were able to arrest both herders and natives.’’

Recall that two natives of Sabo community, Bissalla Yusuf and Mohammed Ibrahim, were abducted three weeks ago and their abductors demanded a N15m ransom.

When contacted, the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, said she was yet to get information about the arrests.
