Diabetic retinopathy is the most common type of eye problem in working-age adults leading to blindness in many cases. This is why people are advised to test for diabetic retinopathy immediately after they are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. 1. Get a dilated eye examination at least once a year with an eye doctor to identify any issues early and start treatment immediately if there are any problems.
2. Manage your blood sugar levels within your desired range. Having very high blood sugar can harm your eyes’ blood vessels, alter the way your lenses and cause hazy (blurry) vision
